DO WE HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH FAITH?
It is time for our annual stewardship campaign and for all of us to think about
how we can support our church. The past couple of years our theme was All of Us
Together Again. This thought was meant to reflect on the fact that we did not have a
pastor, and it takes all of us together as Ecclesiastes 4:9 states – “Two people are
better than one, because they get more done by working together.”
Several years ago, our theme was More Than Enough and I would like to look
back on that. 2 Corinthians 9:6-9 says, “God can bless you with everything you need,
and you will always have more than enough to do all kinds of good things for others.”
MORE THAN ENOUGH invites you to be blessed as you bless others. As God’s people
we invest our gifts and talents on behalf of God’s kingdom, and as a result we
experience God providing MORE THAN ENOUGH. There will always be MORE THAN
ENOUGH to meet our needs, the needs in the local community, and the needs of our
congregational ministry.
As we as a congregation anxiously wait for a new pastor, we must remember that
as a fellowship of believers working together, we do indeed have the capability of
accomplishing more by worshiping together, praying together, and being faithful to our
God.
A challenge I am asking you to consider now, is how you can continue to support
the needs of The Presbyterian Church of Paris to be able to bring people to Christ.
Our members are engaged and involved in activities that do exactly this. It is vitally
important that we support those things in our lives that give meaning to who we are
and what we do, and even in tough times waiting for a pastor to be called, this means
supporting the church family to which we belong.

SANCTUARY CHOIR NEWS
Welcome back, choir! Since the beginning
of October, the Sanctuary Choir has
resumed its leadership role in our service
music, and we sincerely appreciate our six
faithful members who keep the music
coming.
You might think that with only six singers
we have to rely on old familiar songs that we
know well. However, one of our October
anthems was brand new, and one we were
singing for only the second time – yea for us!
Can you tell the difference between new and
old?
The big news (how can it be time to
mention this?): the 48th annual Community
Advent Choral Service will be here in our
sanctuary on Sunday December 6. The
tentative rehearsal schedule is as follows:
Monday, November 9
Monday, November 16
Monday, November 23
Monday, November 30
Tuesday, December 1
This unique service is always a special
event in our community, so mark your
calendars now.
Remembering that November is the month
for Thanksgiving, let’s sing our hymns with
an extra dose of joy, praise, and energy this
month!

THE CHRISTIAN CALENDAR
November 22 is “Christ the King”
Sunday, and reminds us that Jesus is Lord
over all things: “Christ reigns supreme.
Christ rules in peace. As Alpha and Omega,
the beginning and the end, Christ is the
center of the universe, the ruler of all
history, the judge of all people. Christ
triumphs over death and, in the end, over all
the forces of evil.”
November 26 is the day we set aside
from our busy schedules to give thanks to
God for all His generous blessings. At the
end of this newsletter, you’ll find a list of
things you can thank God for every day this
month!
November 29 is
the beginning of the
Advent season, when we
prepare to welcome
Jesus to our world and
into our hearts. Susan
will be looking for Advent Wreath readers
and candle-lighters for each Sunday of
Advent: Nov. 29, Dec. 6, Dec. 13, & Dec. 20.
All Saints Day
On November 1, All Saints Day, we
took a few moments to remember and
give thanks for the Christians we have
known who have shaped our lives, and
who have left this earth to be with God.

What a wonderful new meaning for
ASAP: “Always Say a Prayer.”
There’s work to do,
deadlines to meet,
you’ve got no time to spare;
but as you hurry and scurry today,
Always Say a Prayer.
In the midst of family chaos,
your “quality time” is rare.
Do your best; let God do the rest, and
Always Say a Prayer.
It may seem like your worries and
stresses
are more than you can bear.
Slow down, take a breath, look up to
God,
and Always Say a Prayer.
God knows how stressful life is;
He wants to ease our care;
and He’ll respond A.S.A.P.;
Always Say a Prayer!
