We are once again hosting a Wednesday Lent series of worship services this year, for the entire Paris community, from Noon to 12:30 (We will not be able to offer the usual lunches after, in this pandemic year). Gail and Ken Wiehe will provide the music for this Wednesday’s service, March 16, and Pastor Pablo Marty from First United Methodist Church the message.

Thank you for your generosity: The final total of our Souper Bowl of Caring gift to the Compassionate Food Pantry was $500.

FIRST MARCH 20 OPPORTUNITY: There will be a very short Congregational Meeting immediately following worship Sunday March 20, for the election of officers.

SECOND MARCH 20 OPPORTUNITY:  We are looking for a few volunteers to stay for a little while after the meeting to form an assembly line, to put together hygiene kits for Paris residents who need them.

Local churches thru the Paris Ministerial Fellowship provided financing for a new blessing box which is now in place in front of the police station.  A carpenter from northern Indiana makes these for communities throughout the country.  It is made of weather proofed material and 4 coats of paint were applied to keep it strong and beautiful for years.  The previous box stood strong for years but aging finally took its toll and it simply had to be replaced.  The community is urged to provide items:  Take what you need – Provide what you can. Additional thanks goes to our Mission Task Force for its financial support, and to Tom Hebermehl for organizing the project and making it happen.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance has set up an account to provide emergency relief for those fleeing Ukraine. You can give by sending a check to Paris Presbyterian Church, made out to the church, along with a note that it is for this fund. Or gifts can be made online at pcusa.org/UK22 or by phone at (800) 872-3283.
