Rev. Dr. Jonathan Seitz, who came to visit us a couple years ago, the Mission Task Force is happy to say, will be coming again!! We had a great visit last time and Jonathan will PREACH on the 12th at 10:30AM followed by a special Fellowship Time in the Koinonia Kafe (hosted by MTF) with a short presentation on his work (maybe his wife Emily’s too) as our Mission Co-Workers. He will arrive August 11 and may have one of his children with him.
We will be collecting a SPECIAL OFFERING for his work as a missionary.
He and Emily raise most of their own funds to continue their work spreading Christ’s Good News in Taipei, Taiwan and the surrounding area. Jonathan serves the school as professor of theology and missiology. The seminarians he prepares for ministry typically begin their ministries in Taiwan’s small, rural churches. He also teaches lay leaders as part of the seminary’s Lay Academy.
His family consists of his wife Emily, eldest son, Samuel, and twins Eva and Eli.
This is on the PC(USA) website about the Seitzs:
Jonathan and Emily Seitz will be on an extended Interpretation Assignment from late summer 2018 through June 2019, staying at Princeton Theological Seminary via their visiting scholar program. They are eager to visit churches and plan to travel regularly throughout the Midwest, Southeast and East Coast.
We will be blessed by his presence on one of his first visits.
One of Jonathan’s favorite passages is this “For I know that you are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love, and ready to relent from punishing“ (Jonah 4:2b).
